Since its inception, the University of Chicago has made scientific discovery -- pioneering research -- the driving force in both biology and medicine. This emphasis on basic and clinical research is especially true in Radiation and Cellular Oncology, where investigators and clinicians work in close collaboration to ensure breakthroughs made in the laboratory are quickly translated into improved care for our cancer patients.
As Federal funding for research continues to decline, however, we must look for private support to sustain and advance our many academic and investigative programs.
